LEGACY 2026/27
VISION: FULLY MATURE



Beginning in the early 1970's and continuing all the way to today, we have a rich legacy. Our church has housed the presence of God, seen numerous moves of the Holy Spirit, reached countless people with the Gospel and met practical needs for our community. Over the last two years, we've seen God do incredible things through legacy, from our lobby renovations to our outdoor spaces to our next generation spaces that are near completion. Today, we believe God is calling us to move beyond just the inside of our building to taking new ground.


Our vision for Legacy for 2027 is FULLY MATURE.

This Legacy Sunday on November 1st, 2026 we'll be receiving our annual year-end Legacy Offering. This offering is above and beyond your regular tithes & offerings exists to accelerate the vision and mission of RLC, from funding our formation initiatives, future-proofing our site and enabling us to give to missions locally and around the world. We are so excited to continue to see our vision flourish through Legacy. Listed below is a summary of what we see for the future and what has been accomplished thus far.

GOALS \\\ $1M+

While we have specific goals for immediate needs, projects and initiatives, we are able to do more as the speed of generosity increases. And in all that we do, it's always about connecting people to the realness of God.

  • Parking Expansion (half of our cars are currently parking in grass or gravel) - $2M+
  • Continued Funding of Discipleship & Formation (Pathway Development, Staffing, etc) - $100k
  • Continued Funding of Missions Endeavors (Haiti Partnership, Ghana, Local Partners etc) - 10% of all Legacy giving



COMPLETED IN 2025/26 SEASON

Since Vision Sunday on November 10th, 2025, we've received over $460k in Legacy Giving (through August 2026), and from that given out over $46,000 in Missions and Outreach endeavors and partnerships.


DOLLARS SAVED: +$400k designated toward parking & future infrastructure (as of August 31, 2026)

  • AUDITORIUM 2 (MPR): full remodel (flooring, storage wall, electrical, etc - to be fully completed Spring 2026)

  • KIDS WING: All new flooring, classrooms & chapel; upgrade all lighting; paint entire wing / add murals; Dutch doors for kids classes

  • DOWNSTAIRS & EARLY LEARNING: Classrooms Renovation (for LifeGroups, Classes, Trainings & more); All new floors, lighting, paint

  • SECURITY DOORS: New Security Doors for main entrances for complete safety throughout the week
  • OFFICES & MEETING SPACES: Built out brand new conference room, removed baptismal; new lighting/walls/stairs/drywall/paint/furnishing


    • FURTHER WORK WE WANT TO DO INSIDE OUR BUILDING (NOT YET FUNDED): 

    Sound Treatment in Main Lobby & Sanctuary; Further staff support (Kids, Admin, Youth Support, etc)



    PREVIOUS LEGACY SEASONS:

    PHASES ONE & TWO GOAL (2023-2025):
    - Raise $1,000,000

    - Renovate Main Sanctuary, Lobby, Back Patio & Cafe, Kids & Office Spaces

    - Designate 10% of every dollar for Missions / Outreach endeavors & partners


    TOTAL RAISED: $606,000 (From December 2023 to November 2024)


    PHASE 1: SANCTUARY *COMPLETED*

    Our first phase is all about refreshing our primary worship and gathering space. This upgrade will brighten not only the physical space, but be a source of beauty as we gather to worship.

    • Paint interior of the Main Sanctuary (Auditorium)
    • Upgrade all Flooring to Carpet Squares
    • Upgrade all seating with new seating; donate former chairs to local churches in need
    • New Screen; move current projector and screen to MPR for youth / groups usage
    • Upgrade house lighting to new fixtures (brighter, sustainable, and LED code compliant)

    PHASE 2: LOBBY & CAFE *COMPLETED*

    This phase is all about our spaces and opportunities for connection, which is core to our mission as a church. Our lobby upgrade will not only be bright and high quality, but will also dramatically increase our functional space in the lobby, a welcome change for Sunday mornings.

    • Paint interior of the Lobby
    • Replace and Upgrade all Flooring
    • Buildout Wax Road Coffee (our cafe) with counters, storage, plumbing, furnishings. This will provide a great community experience for gatherings and future possibility of daily coffee shop being open
    • Replace & Upgrade all lighting fixtures to beautiful and sustainable fixtures
    • Sliding & Accordion Doors for interior & exterior to maximize lobby flow
    • Furnish lobby, cafe & patio areas for community use
    • Upgrade front and back entrance doors to security doors for increased safety throughout the week
    • Complete back patio renovation (landscaping, play areas, seating, putting green)
    • (NOT YET FUNDED) Acoustic treatment in lobby to promote conversation and curb multiplying volume on Sundays


    PHASE 3: NEXT GENERATION SPACES *70% COMPLETED AS OF FALL 2025*

    This phase is all about our next generation spaces, from our kids wing to our early learning center to our next generation auditorium.

    • Renovate Kids Wing (paint, flooring, lighting, doors
    • Renovate downstairs (flooring, paint, lighting, classrooms)
    • Complete back patio renovation
    • Upgrade our main entrance to security doors & buzz-in system
    • Renovate classrooms downstairs for teams, lifegroups, outside groups, etc
    • NEAR COMPLETE (FULLY FUNDED): Auditorium 2 Lighting, Stage, Seating & A/V treatment, Kids Spaces murals & furnishings

    1. What is Legacy?

    When we say "legacy" or "legacy giving," we simply mean giving from a place of generosity that goes above and beyond the regular tithe. Our emphasis for this season of Legacy Giving is explained below.

    2. What is Legacy Giving for?

    Legacy giving is for special projects such as building expansion or upgrades, a land purchase or even a community or missions project. While themes change from season to season, Legacy as a whole always comes back to being A House for the Next Generation. All Legacy giving either goes to the house, or through the house (10% of every dollar immediately goes beyond us to either missions partners, local outreach or other missional initiatives). Our legacy giving does not factor into our yearly budget and is not intended to cover regular expenses beyond what is stated in our Legacy Vision.


    3. How do I become part of Legacy?

    If RLC is home, you're a part of Legacy! 


    We believe that everyone has a place to fit in the body (Romans 12:4-8). For some, that includes living in the "gift of generosity." If you are regularly tithing and feel that you have A) the gift of giving and B) the calling to help leave a legacy in through this local church through financial generosity beyond the tithe, you can be a part! Just select "Legacy" on our Giving Platform.
