We’re so encouraged by what God is doing in our church and throughout our region of South King County, and we're excited for the opportunity to create more room for people to encounter Jesus! Below are
answers to common questions about this change as we gear into 3 Services
starting September 7th. If you have any further questions, please let us know!
BEFORE YOU READ:
Please remember to be gracious as we embark on this new season! From new parking rhythms to kids check-in to service times, we've never been this way before. Some things will feel the same, while other things might feel totally different. Our hope is that you help us navigate this by creating community, inviting people in, and providing feedback when it's helpful! What is unchanging is our commitment to being a house for every generation.
GENERAL
Q: Why 3 Services?
A: We have grown by 40%, much of which is young families with kids. Even through the summer, our kids spaces and parking have revealed our need for more margin. Adding a third service creates more room for families, kids and adults, while also easing our parking footprint, allowing more room for growth as we step into the fall season and beyond. This also creates opportunities for more people to join teams!
Q: When does this change start?
A: Our new service times begin on September 7th @ 8:30AM, 10:00AM, & 11:30AM.
Q: Which service should I attend?
A: Whichever service works best for you! If you're able, choose the 8:30 or 11:30 service, as we anticipate the 10am to be the fullest. All three services will be the same with kids ministry, cafe, etc.
Q: Can I invite a friend?
A: Yes - that's what this is all about!
Q: Can we stick around after service, or do we need to leave right away?
A: Yes! That's why we designed our cafe, patio and lobby the way we did. Please stay and make friends, but we ask that you first pick up your child before mingling.
KIDS & YOUTH
Q: Will Kids Ministry be offered at all three services?
A: Yes! Kids Ministry will be available during all services. We will have all 4
of our classrooms available from newborns to 5th grade. We recommend coming early for check-in. You can drop your kids off as early as 20 minutes before service begins.
Q: Will Kids Check-In stay the same?
A: Check-in area remains the same, BUT we recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before service to allow time for check-in and walking to class.
Check-in will be available 20 minutes prior to service
start time. For example, you can check your child in as early as 9:40AM for the 10AM
service. Check-in will remain open until 20 minutes into each service. For more info on Kids Check-in click here.
Q: Do I need to pick up my kids right away?
A: We ask that you do your best to pick up your kids before mingling. We want people to stay and connect, but we ask that you first pick up your child first so that our teams can reset for the next service.
Q: What about Youth?
A: UD MID (6-8th grades) will now meet at the 11:30 Service in Auditorium 2. They will be dismissed following worship, just like before. Youth (Middle & High School) will continue to meet on Sunday Nights at 6PM. Additionally, UD Breakfast Club for high school students will
be during the 1st Sunday of the month during the 8:30AM service. For more info on UD, click here.
PARKING & LOGISTICS
Q: Will there be enough parking for 3 services?
A: Yes! We will now have more available parking. We encourage
you to come early as we get into this new rhythm! When you arrive, follow the signs & parking team’s directions. There will be primary parking designated for different services in order to minimize congestion and maximize the flow in-between services. Parking for those attending at 8:30AM will first park in the back parking lot and the 10AM guests arrive in the front lot and 11:30AM being a mix of both. When in doubt, follow the parking team's instructions!
Q: What about designated parking for FAMILIES, GUESTS or VOLUNTEERS?
A: There will always be Family Parking
available for those with families with children. Look for the "Families Parking" signs. Volunteers serving on
Sunday will have their own space on the grass bordering Wax Road.
Q: How much time is there between services?
A: We anticipate about 25 minutes in-between each service.
SERVING & TEAMS
Q: When will the Pre-Service Rally take place?
A: Each area will have its own pre-service rally at 8:05. For specifics, speak to your Team Lead.
Q: How does this affect volunteer schedules?
A: We encourage everyone to attend one and serve at least one, while we know that some teams require presence at all three services. Teams will adjust to the new times, and our leaders will work to make it as easy and fun as possible to serve!
Q: I already serve—do I need to change my service time?
A: Not necessarily. Your team leader will reach out to confirm your new
schedule.
Q: I’d like to start serving—how do I sign up?
A: Great! CLICK HERE to join a team or stop by the Connections Desk on Sunday &
fill out a serve card!
COMMUNITY & GROUPS
Q: When will ESSENTIALS take place?
Essentials will be every 2nd Sunday of the month during the 10AM service.
Q: How will this affect Life groups?
A: Most Life groups will remain at their normal times since majority take place
Monday-Saturday. Some Sunday Groups may shift slightly to align with the new
schedule, leaders will communicate directly if so.
Q: Will there still be time to connect with friends between
services?
A: Absolutely! The lobby and café will remain open, and the staggered service
times actually give more natural flow for community.
LIVESTREAM & ONLINE
Q: Will services still be streamed online?
A: Yes, our livestream will continue. We’ll stream the 10AM service each Sunday on Boxcast, YouTube and Facebook, and will be available to watch on-demand on our YouTube.
